Regulation 126 Certificates

In the Performance Solution approvals process, a Relevant Building Surveyor may accept a technical justification documented in the Performance Solution Report if they understand and agree with all parts of the justification. Due to the complexity of these reports, they often require a design certificate under Victoria Building Regulation 126 (Reg. 126) from an expert. This certificate shifts design responsibility from the Surveyor to the building practitioner issuing the certificate. According to Victorian Building Authority (VBA), if an independent review is needed, it must be done by a registered building practitioner separate from the original designer. Collective Design Solutions offers peer review and certification services for these reports, issuing Reg. 126 design certificates to confirm compliance with Performance Requirements.


